Determination of optimal harvest times of some new apple varieties

This study was carried out to produce apples on producer orchard between 1997 and 1998 obtained in Sazlica town of Nigde. The aim of this research is to determine of optimal harvest time of Scarlet Spur, Oregon Spur, Red Chief and Super Chief apple varieties that just beginning produce is in our country. The fruit skin colour, starch test, TSS, fruit flesh firmness, seed colour, days from full bloom to harvest were determined of all apple varieties. The result showed that optimal harvest time was found between September 15-21th. for all apple varieties. After 140-150 days from full bloom to harvest were matured for all apple varieties
