Identification of three different Capsicum species (C. annuum, C. chacoense, C. baccatum) by using isozyme markers
1999
Onus, A.N. (Akdeniz Univ., Faculty of Agriculture, Antalya (Turkey). Div. of Horticulture)
Morphological markers have several disadvantages when used as markers in botanical studies e.g. they cannot distinguish homozygotes and heterozygotes from each other, if there is a dominance. On the other hand, isozymes generally exhibit Mendelian inheritance and co-dominant expression. This study was conducted to reveal the possibilities of using enzyme polymorphism for identification of some Capsicum species
