This study was conducted to determine the role of A. Flavus as soil inoculum on aflatoxin accumulation in groundnut and to evaluate the effectiveness of different control measures. A. Flavus propagules in the soil played a very important role on aflatoxin contamination. The more numbers of propagules found in the soil the higher level of toxin was detected in the seeds. Evaluation of the effectiveness of chemical control, crop rotation, and solar sterilization of the soil in controlling the fungus showed that benomyl, both as seed and soil treatment was the best. Combination of crop rotation and solar sterilization of the soil was also an effective Control measure and would be preferred.
