Some results of studies on the watermelon pests in Ca Mau province

The survey was carried out on watermelon in Ca Mau province. There are 6 important species of insects and mites were found to be present on Sugar Baby watermelon. Among them Thrips palmi is most important. Some of the common insecticides were tested on Sugar Baby watermelon at Ca Mau in 1998 to control Thrips palmi. Results showed that the use of Regent 800 WG and Confidor 100SL were highly effective for Thrips palmi control on watermelon
