Electrochemical stripping analysis of lead in glass wrapping materials

Method for the determination of soluble lead in glass wrapping materials, by means of potentiometric stripping analysis (PSA) in non-deaerated solutions is defined. Pretreatment of samples and optimal conditions of determination is accepted. In order to increase sensitivity and reproduction of determination is applied the modification of potentiometric stripping analysis (PSA) with constant inverse current in analytic step. The detection limit of 0.64 microgram/cubic meter is optained, by the reproducibility about 6. By this way the necessary time for electrolysis decreases from 900s to 360s. The method accuracy (comparation) is confirmed by parallel analysis carried out by flameless atomic absorption spectrophotometry. All stripping analysis are carried out by a computerized stripping analyzer constructed and made in Yugoslavia, by Faculty of Technology, Novi Sad and "Elektrouniverzal", Leskovac.
