The paper presents review of statistical data and trends of the fish catch in the Yugoslav part of the Danuve river in the period 1990-1999. Characteristics of the river flow, state of environmental conditions and other possible causes as spawning conditions and food supply, which have led to the significant decrease of the total fish catch and negative changes of the composition, structure and production of fish are analyzed.
