Quality parameters of a ruber separator with pawls for potato harvesters

A laboratory and field investigation was carried out of the quality parameters of an upward moving rubber belt with pawls, carryimg artificially made up samples, where the ratio of the number of impurities to the number of tubers varies from 1 to 4. The separator achieves a summed up coefficient of separation of the flat imputities of up to 73.1% and of spheric/oval impurities of up to 12.0%, wherefore it does not satisfy the agricultural requirements on impurities separation. With double treatment of the mass the summed up coefficient of separation does not improve, however the share of the injured tubers increases from 1.7 times to 2.3 times.
