The last phase of a breeding program is the selection stage of the most adequate genotype for the aim zone of the improvement, because of it is necessary to research the analysis of the genotype by environment interactions. Trough the advance of hardware and software computer programs many methodologies have been developed in the recent years, these have allowed that the research with the unbalanced dataset and other issues in the statistical techniques has been handily. Potato plant breeding program developed through UNIPAPA and encouraged by the National University of Colombia, implemented and developed 9 regional trials during 1998 and 1999, in order to evaluate and selection 20 potential genotypes of Solanum tuberosum ssp andigena resistant to Phytophtora infestans. For the analysis and interpretations of interactions between genotype and environment was used the methodology proposed by Kang (1991) and Nassar et al. (1994). Both of them used an only one statistical index for linking up the yield selection and phenotypic stability selection. Kang's method used the Shukla's variance which was determined by REML (Restricted Maximum Likelihood) as a measure of phenotypic stability, through the SAS computer program proposed by Piepho (1999). With the implementations of MACRO's inside SAS computer program were obtained two indexes for yield-stability, the two MACRO's programs allow working with unbalanced dataset for replications (blocks) and genotypes. About evaluated genotype selection, this research concluded that the low number of environment (10) Kang's method shows a better behavior than the Nassar's method. Genotype 391679-56 and 91-53-4 could be the best new varieties for launching in the potatoes market, because of the excellent yield and stability. About yield the news varieties should show higher production than ICA Unica variety. Finally, this research developed a methodology that allows the multivariate analysis, using the yield-stability index, which make easier the yield analysis when the yield being evaluated using the size, quality or another specific characters of potatoes crop.

Испанский язык; кастильский. Dentro de todo programa de mejoramiento, se llega finalmente a la etapa de seleccionar los genotipos más adecuados para la zona objeto del mejoramiento. Para esto es necesario llevar a cabo el análisis de la interacción genotipo por ambiente. Gran cantidad de metodologías han sido desarrolladas en los últimos años, gracias al avance de los computadores, tanto en hardware como en software, lo que ha permitido que el trabajo con datos desbalanceados y otros inconvenientes en las técnicas estadísticas del análisis de la interacción genotipo por ambiente sean manejables. El programa de mejoramiento en papa, del convenio UNIPAPA, liderado por la Universidad Nacional de Colombia, estableció 9 pruebas regionales durante los años de 1998 y 1999 para la selección de 20 genotipos promisorios de Solanum tuberosum ssp. andigena , resistentes a Phytophtora infestans. Para el análisis e interpretación de la interacción genotipo por ambiente se utilizaron las metodologías propuestas por Kang (1991) y Nassar et. al. (1994) las cuales utilizan estadísticos que reúnen tanto la selección por rendimiento como por estabilidad fenotípica. Como media de estabilidad fenotípica, para el método de Kang (1991), se utilizó la varianza de Shukla (1972) estimada por REML (Restricted Maximum Likelihood) mediante el programa SAS propuesto por Piepho (1999). Para la obtención de los dos índices de rendimiento-estabilidad se implementaron MACRO's en el programa SAS las cuales permiten trabajar con datos desbalanceados tanto para repeticiones como genotipos. Se encontró que con un bajo número de ambientes (10) el método de Kang muestra un mejor comportamiento que el de Nassar, en cuanto a la selección de los genotipos evaluados. Por su excelente rendimiento, los genotipos 391679-56 y 91-53-4, se vislumbran como las nuevas variedades a introducir en el mercado de la papa. ICA Unica, se mostró claramente como la variedad a superar, en cuanto a rendimiento, por los nuevos genotipos a obtener. Finalmente, se desarrolló una metodología que permitió el análisis multivariado, utilizando como base los índices de rendimiento-estabilidad, lo cual facilita el análisis del rendimiento cuando este es evaluado por varias características, tales como tamaño y calidad, propias del cultivo de papa.
