[Rapeseed cakes in dairy cows nutrition]

The effect of a diet containing both high fat rapeseed meal (2.5 kg/cow/day, about 15 % of fat) and low fat extracted rapeseed meal (0.5 kg/cow/day) on milk yield and composition was investigated. The experiment was conducted on high producing dairy cows during two years. The milk yield and lactose concentration significantly increased, while fat and protein concentrations slightly decreased. The fertility remained good and the feeding costs decreased.
