As radiography and ultrasonography are becoming more widely used in a small animal practice uroliths are detected more often. It has to be stated, however, that urolithiasis is only a symptom. The real diagnosis has to reveal the background of urolithiasis, the causes and predisposing factors that play an important role in inducing this disorder.
