Variability of 10 soil physical and chemical properties of wetland was investigated in Block A of Peatland Development of the Mega Rice Project, Central Kalimantan, using 5 soil Mapping Units on 2 major landforms. For each Mapping units, 25 observation points were selected randomly from field and laboratory data. Ten soil properties were used for variability analysis, i.e. Organic Carbon, Nitrogen, P2O5, K2O, pH, CEC, Aluminium, Ash Content, Peat Depth and Pyrite Depth. The results showed that Soil Mapping units G1 and A2 were relatively homogeneous for most of the soil properties, whereas G2, G3 and A1 varied. Several soil properties, mainly P2O5, had reasonably high variability within Soil Mapping Units. Paired test comparison results of the mean of 10 soil properties showed that 53 percent of the test results support the hypotheses that different soil Mapping Unit possess different soil properties
