Performance of cut and whole seed tubers for planting during autumn at hisar

Nine treatments, comprising three whole and six cut tubers were compared for planting of potato crop during autumn. Plant emergence was significantly reduced by cutting tubers. Plant height and stems/hill increased with increase in seed tuber size. Total tuber yield and yield of 40 g size tubers was higher when whole tubers were used while planting. Cutting of seed tubers reduced comparative return.
