In 1995 the linseed variety 'LU 5' (German original) was included in the Catalogue of Recommended Varieties of Plants to be grown in Lithuania, in 1996- another variety of linseed ('Blue Chip'). Thus the need to investigate the technology of lindseed growing has arisen. In one of the trials we investigated chemical composition of lindseed var. 'LU 5' seed, stem and chaff.The fertilizing trial was carried out in 1995-1997 at the Upyte Research Station and the rates of individual fertilizers (N30P40K60) and different combinations were investigated
