Over the period 1976-1999 experiments were made in the Lower Nemunas to determe the dynamics of botanical structure of grassland on the slopes of dikes of polders within 25 years after construction. During the experimental period we estimated the alternations in the sward botanical composition and productivity on the slopes of polder dikes
