Studies on the performance and growth of chilli cultivars for fresh green fruit yield

Four exotic chilli (Capsicum annuum L.) cultivars, Anaheim TMR 23, Cayenne Long Slim, Korean and Long Red Cayenne were evaluated for number of days taken to flowering, maturity, number and weight of fruit per plant, fruit size, pericarp thickness, single fruit weight, plant height and yield. A commercially grown local chilli cultivar Peshawar Selection was late maturing. It produced maximum number of fruit per plant, (268.0) and gave the highest yield, (44.3 t/ha) followed by Anaheim TMR 23 (34.03 t/ha) which out-yielded all other cultivars.
