The contribution analyses of the effect of selected climatic factors on dry matter production of 4 varieties of red clover in the conditions of East - Slovak Lowland, on luvisol, under extensive nutrient level, without irrigation. Results confirm, that variability of red clover of climatic conditions affect economic production, considerably. Sensitise on the precipitation was found out providing variety SIGORD and CHLUMECKA. More expressive dependence of yield variability was recorded from sums of rainfall in comparison with sum of temperature, at the same time raising sum of temperature manipulates production negative. The hydrothermic regime was showed as dominate source of variability of clover production, at the same time his remaining values (interval 0,2-2,2) correlated positive with the increase of clover production. On the base of realised analysis and synthesis of present science information it's followed that under extensive nutritive conditions, without irrigation, in the East-Slovak Lowland, registered less exacting varieties BRANISKO and VIGLANA are of use better. tetraploid variety SIGORD and diploid variety lower plasticity, evidently
