The effect of heterogeneity of the soil profile on selected physical and hydro-physical properties was observed under Fluvi-Eutric Gleysol (FEG) conditions. The plots numbered 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 were examined using the Novak classification scale based on clay elements content. The specific gravity, maximum capillary water capacity, available water capacity and content of clay elements were compared with the soil type which represented the average of I. - X. plots. The content of clay particles in the FEG soil profile was in the range of 33.196-66.696% which is classified as loamy to clay soil. The variability of subsoil clay particles was still higher. With regard to the soil profile heterogeneity, the lowest variability was observed for specific gravity. The heterogeneity of FEG in Milhostov is a factor which affects significantly the productivity of this type of soil
