Spectral reflectance curves give important information about investigated objects. In the paper attention is paid to relationship between defoliation of spruce twigs and spectral reflectance in the range from 400 to 1100 nm wavelength. Reflectance of tree assimilatory organs give information about pigment content and their acitivity in the visible part of electromagnetic radiation and about cell structure of leaves or needles and amount of biomass in the near infrared part of electromagnetic radiation. Spectral characteristics are valuable for interpretation of remote sensing data, especially new methods of hyperspectral data classification
