A saturated variety (eutric) of a anthro-fluvic gleysol according to the current Slovak classification was established in an alluvial brook zone. Paper points to the absence of cambic gleysol as a more suitable classification unit. The soil manifests a high dispersion homogenity that however is not reflected in its ecological and production properties. Soil pH ranged considerably within the in the interval 5.02-7.07 and so did both the available phosphorus content (31.0-78.O mg P/kg) and potassium content (62.5-322.5 mg K/kg), as well as nutrients fixed in the sorption complex. Possible sources of the high variability are discussed and amelioration measuers along with fertilization methods are proposed for the optimum soil utilization for forest school purposes
