Evaluation and analysis of artificial fish reefs installation by fish trap in Chanthaburi province

Results of this study indicated that the fishes of 36 species were caught by fish-trap after one year of reefs installation. The composition of fishes were 33 species of demersal fish and 3 species of pelagic fish. The average of catch per unit effort (CPUE) of the first six months was significantly different from those of the second six months. The biggest size of fish was Epinephelus malabaricus with length of 46.5 cm and the smallest was Lethrinus lentjan with length of 7.5 cm. Number of Siganus spp. and Parascolopsis spp. have been tended to increased after one year of the reefs emplacement. The evaluation and analysis of preliminary income of this fishing gear showed that the catching value was 67.2/baht/trap/day.
