The grain mass preservation involving the artificially cooled air is described. The artificially cooled air, along with active aeration, drying and other processing and storage methods, is used already over half a century. The grain mass is cooled in specially equipped storehouses and elevators. In so doing the grain with humidity up to 20 % is stored at the temperature +7-10 deg C over the extended period (8-300 weeks) without worsening its quality. During the continuous aeration by air with temperature 4.5 deg C such grain with humidity 22-24 % can be safely stored over a month, and from 1.7 deg C up to 45 days. Under the conditions like those the seed material does not loss its germinating capacity and germination energy and the quality of food seed does not become worse. Freezing the moisture out of the air supplied into the seed mass resulted in its humidity drop. Such air is capable of lowering the seed temperature and partially removes moisture. The measures raise the resistance of the seed mass while storing. Seed cooling is an ecologically pure storage technology which renders impossible the self-heating and prevents from pest damage of seed mass and losses caused by grain breathing
