Results are provided of studying the regularities of the bacterial destruction of anionic surface-active substances (ASAS), in particular, of the ASAS stable to biodegradation, alkylnaphtalene sulphonate (ANS), as well as of studying the genetic control of the processes of biodegradation of thesubstances mentioned, and studying the bacterial breeding method. The plasmide control of the biodegradational processes is studied and the desulphonating enzyme gene expression is disclosed in the destructor bacteria P. rathonis. Involving the selective pressure method under the flowing cultivation, ANS destructor bacteria strains are obtained. Using the molecular breeding method, a highly active strain of ANS destructor bacteria P. alcaligenes TR is also obtained. The possibility is shown to involve the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in bacterial species identification in waste disposal plants. A process flowsheet is produced for industrial wastewaters treatment from ASAS, which includes the PCR-aided destructor monitoring stage
