Pest insects damaging Acacia mangium leaves and the control measures

Acacia mangium is widely planted in some northern provinces, such as Tuyenquang, Phutho, Hoabinh, Hatay. However, the pure plantations and mass scale planting of this species have given rise to pest insects. Results from surveys, carried out by this paper author, showed that, there are up to 80 pest insect species, belonging to 14 families, 8 orders, damaging leaves of Acacia mangium. The most dangerous species are Anomis fulvida speiredonia retorta, Acanthopsyche tsp. and Pagodia hekmeyeri. Results from the tests showed that effective pesticides are: Sumithion 50 EC, Ofatox, Karate 2.5 EC, trebon.
