This paper describes an iterative numerical produce for quickly and accurately solving the implicit problem of determining the gate opening that guarantee given discharge through the gate if upstream and downstream water level are known. The procedure takes into consideration the basic hydraulic processes involved in the modelling process. A computer program is developed to implement the computational algorithm. Applicatio of the program is illustrated by examples.
