[Contamination of cereals harvested in 2001 by mycotoxins]

Wheat, barley and maize contamination by deoxynivalenol (DON) and zearalenone was monitored in 2001 and compared with the results from 1998. The samples coming from 21 feed producers in the Czech Republic were tested by ELISA. The frequency of cereals contamination in 2001 was about twice higher than that in 1998. The higher number of positive samples was found in maize, while barley was the less contaminated.
