Effect of top dressing on the quality and quantity of the yield of winter wheat

The goal of crop production is to produce high yields with good quality using an environmentfriendly production technology. Fertilization, and more specifically top-dressing may affect the quality and quantity of the yield. Four-year (1996-1999) small-plot field experiments were run to evaluate the effect of top dressing on different winter wheat varieties. Among the milling and baking quality characteristics the protein content, the gluten, the farinographic values, the falling number and the hectoliter weight were evaluated and yields were measured per plot.
