Contents of the thorny sago palm pith (Metroxylon rumphii Mart.) in the growth areas in Tandia village, Wasior, Manokwari [Indonesia]

Английский. The management of method sago forest for export or domestic consumption is still limited. The natural sago forest in Irian Jaya spreads out largely in low and swampy areas. The facts shown by some researches indicated that different growth areas of sago affect the content of sago palm pith, however the amount of sago palm pith production in different growth areas needs to be studied further. This research was done to find out the difference of the thorny sago palm pith production (Metroxylon rumphii Marth) which growth in the research location in Tandia village. Tree samples are selected randomly in each of the growth location four trees location with the size of each trees 5 cm x 5 cm x 5 cm for 15 free samples. Research result showed that the content of the which grow in the dried areas is higher than those in the transition and swampy areas. The chemical characteristics of the soil in the three growth areas are relatively same. However, the physical characteristics of the soil is better in the dried areas than the transition and the swampy areas. it was assumed that the physical characteristics of the soil is the most influential and may used as an indication to choose the location of the thorny sago plantation

индонезийский. Upaya pengelolaan hutan alam sagu baik untuk tujuan ekspor maupun untuk pemenuhan konsumsi dalam negeri dewasa ini masih terbatas. Hutan alam sagu di Irian Jaya cukup luas menyebar di daerah dataran rendah dan rawa-rawa. Fakta yang dikemukakan beberapa peneliti mengidentifikasikan bahwa perbedaan kondisi tempat sagu mempengaruhi kandungan aci sagu, namun berapa besar produksi aci sagu yang tumbuh pada kondisi tempat tumbuh yang berbeda perlu diteliti lebih lanjut. Penelitian yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan produksi aci sagu berduri (Metroxylon rumphii Mart.) yang tumbuh di daerah rawa permanen, daerah transisi dan daerah kering. Lokasi penelitian di desa Tandia. Pohon contoh dipilih secara acak pada setiap tempat tumbuh, masing-masing empat pohon dan setiap pohon contoh dibuat contoh uji berukuran 5 cm x 5 cm x 5 cm sebanyak 15 contoh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kandungan aci sagu berduri (Metroxylon rumphii Mart.) yang tumbuh di daerah kering lebih tinggi dibanding daerah transisi dan daerah rawa. Sifat kimia tanah pada ketiga tempat tumbuh relatif sama (kelas kesuburan sedang). Sedangkan sifat fisik tanah (drainase dan aerase) lebih baik pada daerah kering daripada daerah rawa dan daerah transisi. Diduga sifat fisik tanah ini yang paling berpengaruh dan dapat dijadikan indikator pemilihan lokasi penanaman jenis sagu berduri di lokasi penelitian atau daerah lain yang memiliki kondisi tempat tumbuh serupa
