The effects of multiple doses with cow hypophysial extract on superovulatory responses in Ettawa cross goats (PE) in Kupang District

An experiment was conducted to study the effects of administration of multiple doses of cow hypophysial extract on superovulation responses in PE goats in Kupang District. Ten donors of PE goats of 15 to 18 months of age were subjected to two treatments. For the first treatment (T1) 5 donors PE were injected with 1000 mg of each and the second treatment (T2) the other 5 donors were injected with the same dose twice a day for 4 days continually with totally 1200 mg of cow hypophysial extract each. Results of the experiment showed that the superovulation responses of those two treatments (T1 and T2) are significantly different (P0.05) on average number of CL, but not significantly (P0.05) on average C1 quality and unovulated follicle. The superovulation using multiple doses of 1000 mg of cow hypophysial extract were 15.00 CL while using multiple injections of 1200 mg of cow hypophysial extract were 18.20 CL. Superovulation program on PE goats would be better using multiple injection of cow hypophysial extract twice a day for consecutive days
