The use of shrimp powder flavourant as attractant in shrimp feed

Английский. A study to assess the possibility of the use of shrimp powder flavourant processed from shrimp head as attractant in shrimp feed was carried out for 7 days at laboratory scale experiment. Containers used in the study were 9 aquariums with a 60 cm x 60 cm x 40 cm size each. The weight of the tiger prawns used in the observation was 15.6-18.2 g each. The number of shrimp stocked in each aquarium was 10. Feeding was conducted twice a days as much as 5 percent of prawn weight. Randomized experimental design was applied in the study with triplicates. Feeds observed as treatments in the study were control feed (A), experimental feed added with shrimp powder flavourant (B) and commercial feed (C). Attraction ability of feed was judged by the number of shrimp responsive to the feed and the amount of feed consumed by shrimp. Results of the experiment revealed that feed added with shrimp powder flavourant attracted shrimp to consume than control feed. The use 5 percent shrimp powder in the feed could attract prawn to pick the feed faster than the control. Feed added with shrimp powder was consumed more by prawn compared to the control, in which the consumption levels were 96 percent and 39 percent respectively

Penelitian penggunaan flavor udang bubuk dari hasil ekstraksi kepala udang sebagai bahan atraktan (pemikat) untuk pakan udang telah dilakukan dalam skala laboratoris selama tujuh hari. Wadah yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah akuarium berukuran 60 cm x 60 cm x 40 cm sebanyak 9 buah. Udang uji berupa udang windu dengan bobot antara 15,6-18,2 g/ekor. Jumlah udang uji 10 ekor per akuarium dan pakan diberikan dua kali sehari sebanyak 5 persen dari bobot udang uji. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap faktorial dengan perlakuan A (kontrol); B (dengan flavor udang bubuk); C (pakan komersial), masing-masing 3 ulangan. Uji daya pikat pakan meliputi jumlah udang yang responsif terhadap pakan dan jumlah pakan yang dikonsumsi oleh udang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan flavor udang bubuk mempunyai daya atraktan. Penambahan 5 persen flavor udang bubuk dalam pakan dapat memikat udang untuk mengambil pakan lebih cepat dibandingkan pakan tanpa flavor udang bubuk (kontrol). Pakan dengan penambahan flavor udang bubuk lebih banyak dikonsumsi oleh udang (96 persen) dari pada pakan kontrol (39 persen)
