The yield and growth response of four Brassica species (B. carinata, B. juncea, B. campestris and B. napus) was assessed to salinity in a field experiment conducted at Post Graduate Agricultural Research Station (PARS), University of Agriculture, Faisalabad during the year 2000-2001. This study comprised of four treatments (ECe 3.0, 4.75, 6.0 and 9.50 dS m-1) with three replications. Statistical analysis of the recorded data indicated that different salinities, Brassica species and their interaction had a significant (p less than 0.05) effect on the plant height, stem diameter, number of siliqua per plant, seed yield per hectare, 1000 seed weight and oil contents (%) of the seed. The reductions for the above parameters were maximum at ECe of 9.50 dS m-1 when compared with other treatments. Brassica napus and B. carinata were found more salt tolerant than other Brassica species with respect to the parameters studied.
