Study on influence of feed supplements [nutrimix, diellaminovit and vetserpremix] on performance of broilers
2000
Khan, J.
The present experiment was conducted to study the effect of feed supplements on the performance of broilers. 200 days old chicks were reared on the four experimental starter and finisher rations up to 7th weeks of age. The chicks were randomly divided into four groups of 50 birds each. The body weight of individual birds, daily feed offered, refused feed and feed consumption was calculated weekly. Five birds from each group were taken at random and slaughtered for dressing percentage and weight of giblets (gizzard, liver, spleen and heart). Starter rations A, B, C and D containing 23% crude protein, 3200 K cal/kg metabolizable energy and supplement levels 0.25% nutrimix-B (Group B), 0.25% diellaminvit (Group C) and 0.25% vetserpremix (Group B) where as group A control feed respectively were fed upto 4 weeks of age. Finisher rations A, B, C and D containing 20% crude protein, 3200 K cal/kg metabolizable energy and Nutrimix-B (Group B), 0.25% dielloaminvit (Group C) and 0.25% vetserpremix (Group D) whereas group A control feed respectively were fed from 5 to 7th weeks of age. Results revealed highly significant difference among weight gain of; chicks fed on different experimental starter and finisher rations. The results of total weight gain of all groups of chicks were 1950.36, 1987.28, 2038.76 and 2083.50 grams respectively. Highly significant weight was gained by the chicks fed on ration D. Total feed consumption of chicks were 4747, 4769, 4826 and 4842 grams, respectively. Highly significant feed was consumed by chicks fed on ration D. The total feed conversion of birds fed was 2.43, 2.39, 2.36 and 2.32 respectively. Better feed utilization was observed in chicks fed on ration D as compared to the other experimental rations. Dressing percentage of birds was 60.90, 59.54, 59.50 and 58.76: respectively. Highly significantly dressing percentage was observed in birds fed on ration D. Non-significant difference was observed in weight of internal organs.
