The study proved the occurrence of several forming processes, in the young flooding free at present alluvial sediments of the middle Vistula river valley and its mouth (delta) region. Those are: gleying, browning, humus accumulation and soil leaching. The presence and actual intensity of soil forming processes in the studied soils have been affected by many factors. The most influential were the properties of the alluvial sediments. Among important factors there should be also considered: relief, moisture relationships vegetation cover type, the rather short period of soil forming, and the impact of man
