Effect of nitrogen fertilization on "Sawa" apple yield and quality

In the N-fertilizer experiment carried out in the years 1996-99 it was established that the highest yields of Sawa dessert fruits were obtained when leaf nitrogen concentration was within the range 1.81-1.9 percent. The optimal fruit mass ranged from 190 to 199 g. The nitrogen rates applied did not increase nitrate content in fruits or worsen fruit biochemical composition and storage parameters
