Farm sheep rearing needs managing and arranging quarter pastures making their intensive performance possible. Therefore, two three-year-long experiments using two-species mixtures at different nitrogen fertilization, were carried out. Significant effects were obtained only using PKN 180 fertilization level, which affected the higher yields of green forage and its better distribution within the grazing periods. Mixtures of ryegrass and cockfoot with clower development fairly well. Among grasses besides mixtures, bluegrass and ofher species of lower value were the components. Mineral fertilization applied and organic fertilization from sheep droppings affected good content of macro-components. Intensive pasture performance at high stocking can be made with simple mixtures sowing, but it can also lead to the sward degeneration and in consequence, to its periodical renovation
