A procedure for prediction of suspended sediment load, washed from a small river catchment by heavy rainfall, has been developed by using the concept of instantaneous unit hydrograph (IUH) and dimensionless sediment concentration distribution (DSCD). New equation of the instantaneous unit sedimentgraph (IUSG) is presented, and a procedure for estimating sediment routing coefficient, which is a key parameter of the IUSG, based on measured data of rainfall-runoff-suspended sediment is applied. Data from a small agricultural watershed in East Central Illinois are used to investigate lag times
