Propagation of daylily in vitro

The aim of the experiment was to study the influence of auxin on rooting of daylily 'Stella d'Oro' shoots in vitro. The shoots (ca 3 cm) were grown on MS basal medium with one of the following auxin: NAA, IAA, IBA. The rhizogenesis was induced on each of the medium. Within 4 weeks the number of roots was the highest on medium IBA containing (0.5 and 2.5 mg/l) and they were the longest on the control medium. The roots on medium with IBA (2.5 mg/l) achieved the highest fresh weight. This work demonstrates high rooting competence of daylily 'Stella d'Oro' shoots, though addition of IBA into basal medium could improve roots vigor
