Ecophysiographic studies become a new element of the Polish spatial planning system. It gives wide background for two main planning works performed no the local level: study on preconditions and direction of spatial management for a community and local plans of spatial management. In this case there is a need to work out new methods for environmental and landscape evaluation. In the article, author presents the method of ecological and landscape inventory-making and evaluation of small water ponds that was used in the Raszynka river catchment. The main tool of the method is a checklist that contains general and side criteria of evaluation, its importance weightings and scores for each of the criterion. The results of the study give wide picture of the technical conditions, environmental and landscape value of water ponds and their role in the ecological system. It helps to point out ecological, technical and legal means to protect the water ponds
