In a population of 215 Polish Primitive Horses the total of 73 alleles were identified. The results obtained indicate a high polymorphism of the ten markers analysed (from six to nine alleles) for which the polymorphic information content ranged from 0.448 to 0.836. The HTG6 microsatellite sequence was found monomorphic, and at locus HGT7 three alleles were identified. High coefficients of heterozygosity were obtained, the highest being observed for loci HMS6 and ASB2 (0.871 and 0.823) respectively. For the remaining microsatellite sequences the heterozygosity coefficient ranged from 0.485 to 0.793. On the basis of all markers examined the probability of exclusion (PE) was estimated at 0.9993
