Revitalization - a revival of environment - has lately become a significant phenomenon in sustainable development strategy, which is also aimed at ensuring high-quality landscape environment for future generations to survive. The work reports on the problems with revitalization of the landscape in mountain regions Polana and Podpolanie in Slovakia, which is changing due to an absence of land use. In the former region, it is the case of permanent grasslands, which are not intensively used. It results in their overgrowing with forest covers of different density, a loss of herb cover quality and production potential, as well as a reduction in biote and landscape diversity. The last one is a very special region and there is a need to preserve narrow strip field farming, which prevents forest cover series from progressing to their original location. All these qualitative and quantitative changes have an adverse impact on ecological stability of the landscape. An agroenvironmental programme has been prepared to solve the revitalization of selected areas of Polana region
