The results of the research on biological specific features and productivity of sugar beet seeds depending on their fraction size, variety differences and conditions of growing are revealed in the present thesis. The seeds of registered varieties and hybrids grown in the south-eastern and central parts of Forest-Steppe of Ukraine are disclosed to include considerable quantity /18-21 %/ of small-fraction seeds /3.0-3.5 mm/, 15-20 seeds of 4.5-5.5 mm fraction; the major quantity /62-63 %/ includes seeds of 3.5-4.5 mm fraction. Fraction composition of seeds and their biological characteristics depend on biological forms of sugar beets and on meteorological conditions of growing as well. Using modern technologies of sugar beet production is shown to make it possible to obtain 3.25-5.5 mm seed fractions of population varieties and male sterility hybrids which practically do not differ as for their productive characteristics. Under the same growing conditions, male sterility hybrids regardless of seed quality are characterized by higher productivity than the variety-populations
