[Biological bases of introducing and growing new varieties of annual and perennial Malvaceae species in Forest-Steppe of Ukraine]

The thesis deals with the issues of introducing annual and perennial Malvaceae species and developing the technology to grow new competitive varieties. As a result of the study, introduction is theoretically substantiated to be an important factor to enlarge the species diversity of agro-phytocenoses. The significance of mallows in biologization of farming is determined. Biomorphological and ecological specific features, biochemical content, and the mechanisms of forming overground biomass and seeds of the introduced annual and perennial Malvaceae are revealed. New eleven highly productive varieties and intraspecies hybrids adapted to the environmental conditions of Ukraine are developed, seven of them being included into the Variety Register of Ukraine
