Supervisory control system for water reconditioning unit in DP "Azotara" Subotica [Serbia, Yugoslavia]

In this paper we present a system for monitoring and control for water reconditioning unit (phase 1), which replaces control system installed by Degremont. Installed equipment and software originate from manufacturrers with worldwide reputation. The system has open hardware and software architecture, ready for modification and enlargement, based on programmable controller, workstation and SCADA package for control and monitoring. Experience gained in running the installation since start-up in 1986 until present day, enabled the expert teams of "Azotara" (chemical, mechanical and electrical engineers) and UNO-LUX to implement innovated control algorithms and significantly improved the technology.
