Effect of mineral fertilizers on the yield and quality of mint stolons

Effect of NPK mineral fertilizers on the yield and quality of the mint stolones of cultivar "Mitcham" was studied. Stolone yield varied from 19,047.33 kg/ha (in the control variant) up to 28,095.00 kg/ha, in the variant where 200 kg of nitrogen, along with standard quantities of phosphorus (80 kg/ha) and potassium (50 kg/ha), was applied. Length of stolones, as well as the number sprouts per meter, also varied in dependence of applied dosages of mineral fertilizers, but regarding the these characteristics statistical significance was lower. Content of NPK in stolones ranged between 0.22 and 0.76% for nitrogen, 0.26 and 0.57% for phosphorus and 2.20 and 4.50% for potassium. Fertilization with applied dosages of NPK mineral fertilizer did not significantly influenced to the content of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in stolones.
