Weed vegetation in apple planting and its control with herbicides
2003
Planojevic, B.
The examination herbicides effect: efficiency in application against weeds, impact on the soil characteristics and its nutritional value, the growth and the amount of the apple fruit harvest in the Morava region, Serbia (Serbia&Montenegro) in the period 1984-1986. The herbicides examined were: Simazin S-50, Simatrol S-50, Caragard combi, Ustinex special, Casoron G, Herbatop. They were used in various quantities and various "coctail" combinations. The test fields had a lot of weeds, both one-year and many-year grass-type species. The best efficiency was shown by the Herbatop herbicide, irrespectively of the method of use applied (isolated or in a combination with Simazin). The wealest efficiency was shown by Simazin. Casoron G, Caragard combi, Ustinex special were efficacious when applied on some one-season and many-season weed species. The treatment of the soil with herbicides resulted in increased humidity, increased level of nitrogen in the surface layer (0-30 cm). The most efficient herbicide had the most favourable impact on the level of nitrogen in the apple leaf. None of the used herbicides caused phyto-toxicity, while they had a favourable impact on the amount of fruit and its quality.
