Rhamnolipids by Pseudomonas aeruginosa have been found to exhibit both antimicrobial and antifungal activities. The application of rhamnolipid suspension in planta suppressed diseases caused by pathogen infection. Thus, transgenic plants with rhamnolopid biosynthesis genes have been created. It was shown that the introduction of the rh1B gene provided plants with the tolerance to some pathogene of Solanacea family such as Botrytis cineria and Pseudomonas syrihgea pv.tabaci
