Biomass as energy source in Vojvodina [Serbia&Montenegro]

The largest part of biomass in form of agricultural residues, in our country, comes from Vojvodina. Vojvodina is also poor with fossil fuels, and energy consumption is substantial. It is not cost-effective to transport agricultural crops residues to longer distances, so their usage is practically limited to the place of production or to the direct surrounding. In these circumstances, agricultural sector represents the most rational consumer of the agricultural crops residues as energy source. In this work after short introduction are given in concise form thermo-physical characteristics of the agricultural residues production and possibilities of their usage for production of thermal energy.
