A review of the results of experimental investigation of plant materials drying processes has been given in this paper. Experimental investigations performed have been based on the prototype of universal drying plant using agriculture and forestry waste biomass as fuel. It is a special interest to obtain the temperature and relative humidity of air, moisture and temperature of material, overal drying rate and specific energy consumption data. Dry matter and essential oils content are chosen as quality characteristics of drying process. Specific energy consumption has been 4500-6000 kJ/kg of water evaporated.
