Functional diploidisation and natural and artificial evolution of trees
Tucovic, A. | Isajev, V. | Sijacic-Nikolic, M. (Univerzitet u Beogradu, Beograd (Serbia and Montenegro). Sumarski fakultet)
The knowledge of trees at the beginning of the 21st century cannot be compared to that in the early fifties of the 20th century. Trees are characterised by longevity, adaptation, high variability, very complex organisation, not only morphological, anatomical, physiological, but also at the genetic level. The effect of functional diploidisation of woody polyploids on genetic organisation of actual diploids (secondary, tertiary and quaternary) has been dealt with. The process of diploidisation has a huge evolution and technological potential.
