Study on relative susceptibility of some mung bean (Vigna radiata) genotypes to pulse beetle and their correlation with different seed parameters was carried out in pre-monsoon (March-May) and monsoon (July-September) seasons. The susceptibility parameters, viz. % of affected seeds, number of eggs laid, number of adult emerged and % of weight loss were found to have significant and positive correlation with seed weight but were negatively and significantly correlated with seed coat width. The moisture and protein content of seeds were found to have no influence on susceptibility of mung bean to pulse beetle. Moreoever, the coefficient of variation of seed weight and seed coat width was less than 20%, thus, suggesting as indirect selection criteria against susceptibility of Callosobruchus chinensis in mung bean.
