Therapeutic efficacy of decotomax in gastro-intestinal nematodiasis in grazing cattle

Parasitic gastroenteritis, caused by strongyl group of worms, such as Haemonchus, Ostertagia, Cooperia and other species is a common and important problem in grazing cattle during post-monsoon seasons and responsible for economic loss to the farmers. A number of anthelmintincs have been developed to control these infections, a new class of broad spectrum anthelmintic, in injectable forms (s/c) has been tried against common gastrointestinal worms in ruminants in different countries. The present study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of Dectomax in grazing cattle harbouring natural infections of different species of nematodes under field conditions.
